CAMPE Partners and Members pay tribute to two late NGO leaders

A Tribute and Memorial session in honor of Sheikh A. Halim and Zahin Ahmed was held on 25th November 2018 at LGED-RDEC Auditorium, Agargaon, Dhaka. The event was jointly organized by CAMPE and its partner organizations in cooperation with Concern Worldwide, VERC and FIVDB. More than 150 people from NGOs, INGOs, well-wishers, relatives, friends and admirers of Late Sheikh A. Halim and Late Zahin Ahmed were present. Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, founder Chairperson, CAMPE; Kazi Rafiqul Alam, Chairperson, CAMPE; Borad Members of FIVDB, VERC and a host of well-wishers spoke on the occasion.

The speakers reflected on the spiritual, humane and philanthropic side of their personalities that made them iconic leaders in the development sector. They also recalled their role and contribution to the Liberation War of Bangladesh and aftermath that followed. They also highlighted how those two leaders dedicated their lives for advancing rights to education and poverty reduction particularly for the excluded groups in their respective working areas. The speakers also expressed their hope that the new generation will learn from their work and carry on the legacy left behind.
