CAMPE participated in the Education Sector Analysis (ESA) Validation Workshop held at Hotel Sheraton, Dhaka, contributing to national dialogue on shaping Bangladesh’s future education reforms. The workshop convened senior government officials, development partners, civil society, and education experts to validate key findings and recommendations, marking a critical step toward evidence-based policy and investment planning.
The event was attended by Dr. A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon, MP, Honorable Minister for Education and Primary and Mass Education, as Chief Guest, along with Rasheda K. Choudhury, Executive Director of CAMPE, and Bobby Hajjaj, MP, Honorable State Minister for Primary and Mass Education, as Special Guests.
Speaking at the event, Rasheda K. Choudhury emphasized the need to strengthen Bangladesh’s education data systems by integrating private and alternative data sources with national databases such as BBS and BANBEIS. She stressed that improving education quality requires keeping teachers focused on classroom instruction and promoting inclusive, participatory, and learner-centered approaches, while reducing non-academic workloads.
Highlighting equity challenges, she called for reducing rural–urban disparities and ensuring inclusive access for marginalized learners. She also noted that public spending on education remains around 2% of GDP, urging alignment with global benchmarks of 4–6% of GDP or at least 20% of the national budget. She further emphasized that effective reform implementation will require strong legal, financial, and administrative frameworks, along with continued support from development partners, including the Global Partnership for Education (GPE). She also underscored the importance of ensuring education as a legal right and investing in safe, inclusive, and climate-resilient schools.
Echoing these priorities, Bobby Hajjaj, MP, highlighted the government’s plan to incorporate private sector data into education planning, reflecting a shift toward more robust and evidence-based decision-making.
CAMPE also contributed to technical discussions, with Dr. Mostafizur Rahaman, Deputy Director, engaging in non-formal education sessions and Abdur Rouf, Program Manager, contributing to secondary and higher secondary education discussions. CAMPE emphasized the need for context-specific and scalable solutions to address out-of-school children.
