ROLE PURPOSE:
The Technical Officer will work under the close supervision of Project Coordinator and will responsible for ensuring implementation of communication and advocacy plan of EGE project to ensure project visibility and advocacy for completion of primary education of targeted girls and their transition to secondary education. Technical officers will be responsible for increasing awareness of girls’ education especially in the school, improving quality learning environment of the schools and learning centres and improving teacher’s and education facilitator’s capacity to use e content, virtual platform, child cantered methodologies and support learners to achieve expected learning outcome. Technical Officer will be responsible for building network with government’s relevant departments at central level, policy makers, national media, targeted schools for supporting EGE intervention schools regarding ICT in education and reducing child marriage.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Support to develop project communication and advocacy plan as well as deliver project activity timely and effectively
- Support to organize meeting, workshops, seminars, central level advocacy programs with government, media, schools, policy makers, SCI etc. Support in urban school selection and formation of girls group and establish liaison between these school girls and EGE intervention schools’ girls.
- Maintain smooth coordination with central level stakeholders, including government, like-minded NGOs, policy makers, selected schools, media and others.
- Organize sensitization activities to ensure continuation of girl’s education and prevent early marriage
- Support in documentation and dissemination of case studies and best practices.
- Support Project Coordinator in developing quality and timely reports and collect data from schools.
- Active participation in team planning and other meetings.
- Maintain liaison with GoB officials, civil society and NGOs working at the community, local elite and other key formal and informal leaders in the area.
- Advocacy at central level for ensuring continuation of girl’s education, reducing child marriage and ensuring child protection in schools and community
Educational Requirements:
- Master degree, preferably in Communication/English/Social Science/Development Studies and other relevant faculties. Qualification can be flexible depends on professional degrees (ICT in education and education).
- No 3rd class/division will be considered for the position
Experience Requirements: At least 3 years
The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Development Agencies, NGOs
Additional Job Requirements:
- Age below or equal to 35 years
- Age may be relaxed in case of highly experienced candidates
- At least 3 years of working experience in communication, advocacy, networking in any development sector.
- Experience in implementing girl’s education and community mobilization activities.
- Experience in working with national or international NGO.
- Good working knowledge on advocacy, networking, community mobilization, child protection, primary education.
- Computer operation in MS Word (Bangla and English typing), Excel, Power Point, Internet.
- Motorcycle driving skills with valid driving license.
Salary Range: Negotiable
