In order to increase skills and knowledge of teachers on disability and the inclusion of children with disability in education, CAMPE organized a three days residential training workshop “Ensuring Mainstreaming Education for Children with Disability” on February 12-14, 2014 in CDD Training Center, Savar,Dhaka. During the training, Centre for Disability in Development (CDD), a well-known organization working in disability sector of Bangladesh provided technical cooperation. 17 teachers of 17 schools from different parts of Bangladesh participated in the training where the local partner of CAMPE assisted to select the participants.
The outline of the training covered different aspects of mainstream education for children with disability e.g. disability understanding & identification, types of disability and education, disability related laws & policies, tools & techniques to be used in class room, assistive devices, sign language, examination method, learning materials, behavior management, accessibility & environment and role of teachers to handle the children with disability.
